Erith Yacht club is a member run yacht club. This means that not only does membership give access to the amazing facilities at Erith also the ability to develop and shape the future of the club through volunteering opportunities and your membership vote.
Benefits of membership
Becoming a member means that you can use Erith Yacht Club as the base for your sailing on the River Thames and further afield and use all of the Clubhouse, launch, recovery, maintanance, boat and equipment storage facilities with 24 hour/seven day a week access to the club.
Membership also means you can:
- Develop your sailing and boat maintenance skills through organised club events
- Utilise the full range of facilties including moorings, storage and workshops
- Benefit from club member discounts on training and products sold by the club and learn useful sailing, boat handling and maintenance skills from other members in formal and informal situations
- Vote at the AGM on key decisions regarding the club including equipment purchases, fees and charges and election of officers who help run the club.
- Be elected as a club officer such as Hon Commodore, Vice Commodore, Secretary, Treasurer or General Committee member.
- Receive regular club and sailing updates via email and social media
- Be an Officer of the Day during organised club events
- Volunteer and represent the club at activities
- Access additional information on the club website including member directory to assist organising sailing activities
- Get involved in all of the social and recreational activities at the club including use of our bar and kitchen
Types of membership and fees
We have several types of membership suitable for you, your parter and the whole family including free membership for people under 25. We also support Associate and Upriver memberships for those making more limited use of the club or who are already members of another Sailing club who would also like to sail reguarly at EYC.
Obligations of membership
There are very few obligations in being a member but these do include:
- Paying membership fees on time
- Attending work Sundays (where possible) during winter months
- Following our rules, byelaws and operating procedures
- Courtesy and respect for other club members at the club and online
