Slipways and pontoon

Slipway

Our slipways support the launch and recovery of members’ yachts from cradles on rising or falling tides allowing members to easily bring their craft out of the water for maintenance or winter storage in our boatyard.

We are able to launch and recover dinghies, tenders and powered ribs directly from their trailors on the slipway across the entire tidal range.

Club tractors and a static winch are available to manouver boats on cradles onto and off the slipway and into their desired storage location around the club.

The end of our main slipway is marked with a red post.

The launching, recovery, storage and mooring of yachts is managed and co-ordinated by our Fill master.

Pontoon

In front of the club is a half-tide pontoon, which is accessible about two hours each side of high water (tidal range and boat draught depending) and is useful for a quick visit.

It is a club requirement that flotation devices are worn at all times on the pontoon.
