Club sailing gear

With the help of our supporters the club has purchased a range of clothing and equipment for use by club members and those trying sailing at the club.

This means that should you want to try sailing at one of our Open Days, attend one of our training courses, JYS sessions or just start sailing as a member in our organised events you don’t need to buy any specialised equipment before you get a taste for sailing at Erith.

This includes:

Spray jackets and trousers

To provide protection from wind and water while out sailing. Clothing is available in a range of sizes for children and adults.

Buoyancy aids

Wearing a buoyancy aid is mandatory on club dinghies, on the slipway and recommended at all times when on the water. The club has buoyancy aids in a range of sizes to allow you get out on the water and go sailing or to use the pontoon or slipways when supporting others with launching or recovering boats or transferring people onto or off the water.

Family wearing club spray jackets and trousers and boyancy aids.

Children’s helmets

To provide extra protection for younger people while out on the water we have children’s helmets.

Buying your own sailing clothing and accessories

Once you have a taste for sailing you may decide to purchase your own clothing and accessories. Speaking to club members is a great way to help you make a decision about the kinds of gloves, buoyancy aids, clothing, wet suits and other gear that are right for you and where you can buy them. Erith also has a range EYC branded of hats, caps, shirts and other clothing that can be purchased by members.
