Club boats and dinghies

In addition to the range of member’s boats kept at the club for their own use the club has a range of dinghies and other boats available for club activities and member hire.

We have had several boats generourly donated to us and purchased with the assistance of our supporters.

Club members maintain and repair club boats and are encouraged to take care of them as they would their own boat to esure they are available as much as possible for club & member use.

Club dinghies

Bosuns

Designed for the Royal Navy our fleet of dual handed Bosuns are available for hire by Club members who have completed a RYA Level 2 Dinghy course.

The boats provide ample opportunity for club members to get out on the river with other members, prospective members and visitors for both social sailing activities or racing.
Hire fees for a Bonsun are £10 per person per day payable on the day.

Opportunites to head out on Bosuns are often organised informally on our WhatApp discussion groups, at the club on the day for buddy sailing or during organised Sundowner or MAST sailing sessions.

Our Bosuns often travel further up and down the river on daytrips with two, three and sometimes four aboard.

Maintenance and repair of our Bosuns is undertaken by club members and regular users of the boats are encouraged to learn some of the skills involved in their upkeep so the club retains the ability to operate these boats at relatively low cost.

Laser Keel Boats

Our Laser Stratos Keel Boats are ideal training boats and used for our Dinghy training courses. Stable and easily helmed they comfortably accomodate four students. The boats are also used during club events and trips

Wayfarer Seal 2

Purchased through a generous bequest from Steve Hollinghurst with support from the Michael Robinson Sailing Trust the Wayfarer Seal 2 is used for training at Erith Yacht Club.

Hamble Stars

As part of the development of the club, a prominent member, Michael Robinson, became interested in the old workboats of the Hamble.  These 14ft carvel dinghies were being broken up, and so a number were brought to Erith and these Hamble Stars are maintained and used by the club.
