Two yachts from EYC entered the annual Nore Race – a 20 mile race for cruisers and dinghies around the Thames Estuary. Both C’est La Vie (Don Mapp) and Cassie (Malcolm Tuck) left on the Saturday afternoon and anchored near Southend Pier in preparation for the next day’s racing.
If the weather was anything like that experienced by Valencia on the Sunday, it would have been light winds and the finishing times show that it was a long race of 3-4.5 hours. Cassie came 24th with C’est La Vie coming 36th out of 44 boats that completed the race in Group 3 Monohull (6 boats retired or did not start).
Well done to both boats and their crews (9 people in total) for taking part and thank you for representing EYC.
