Welcome to Erith Yacht Club – the Premier Sailing Location on the tidal River Thames.  We are fortunate to be situated on a wide stretch of the river within easy distance of London and the M25. (How to find us)

The Clubhouse and bar are open on Wednesday lunchtimes, Thursday evenings and Sundays, when members are on hand to welcome you.  If you wish to visit at other times you are welcome to contact the Club using the ‘Contact EYC’ facility.

New members are always welcomed, and encouraged to become involved in all club activities. The club has a long tradition of "self-help", which we encourage everyone to adopt, both for mutual support, and for the development of the club as a whole.

Our aims are simple: to provide an affordable sailing venue to all ages and abilities, and to encourage the development of sailing skills through our in-house training and sailing programmes.

EYC has a new clubhouse with new workshops and storage facilities, pontoon, and training boats.  With this development, we can now offer enhanced sailing and training under the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training scheme.

Sailing and Racing

We have an active programme of cruiser and dinghy racing, including a number of Thames-based inter-club races. We also organise trips in company, whether a weekend on the River Medway, a night in St. Kats in the heart of London, or a shorter journey to a nearby pub or club for lunch.

Hamble Stars.

The Hamble Star Class Association at Erith exists to maintain, promote, and sail its historic fleet of Hamble Stars, believed to be the largest surviving fleet in the country.

If you are interested both in sailing wooden boats, and in their maintenance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to take over the stewardship of one of these, to ensure their continuing survival, as well as having fun on the water!

Brass Monkey Race Series

The fourth race in the Brass Monkey Race Series is on Sunday 18th February.  Race briefing is at 1000 with the first start at 1100.  Hot food is available after racing and the bar is open for a drink!

Please make every effort to come along and take part in the racing to support the race officer and safety boat drivers!

Windmill Trophy, Sunday 11 June 2017

Sunday was a breezy day but people wanted to race, so the JYS session was combined to give the kids an amazing experience on a cruiser and the cruiser owners got some crew…..win-win all round!!

Feedback was that everyone had a great time and there have been demands from some of the kids to do it again later in the year.

Thank you to those who supported the day and ran the racing.

NEXT RACE: FRIDAY 23 JUNE, 630pm: Diamond 2

NEXT RACE: SUNDAY 2 JULY, 130pm: Foote Mitchell 1
