What a busy weekend we had last weekend -  1 & 2 April 2017.

A small group of members worked hard on both days to complete the staircases and now they look really good.  hopefully the galvanising will reduce the maintenance required for a number of years - thank you to Robert, Micky, Adrian, Sara and Andy and all those others who have helped in the background.

Sunday was a great opportunity for a number of new members (and newish ones!) to learn about yacht handling and spinnaker work.  Despite the light winds we had a useful time on the water hoisting, dropping and gybing the spinnakers, as well as loading winches and general cockpit management.  If any other cruiser owners are interested in helping us train crews then please contact Alan Thomas, as he is our organiser.  Thanks to Alan, Steve and Jeremy for running the day and to Alan and Guy for the loan of their cruisers.

At the same time we had the first JYS session of the season.  The light winds meant that everyone was on the water sailing.  It was well supported by the older kids who assisted Hugh run the event.  So, please spread the word and get more youngsters down to take part in the sailing - and we will try to get their parents involved to encourage them to join us!

Please look at the sailing programme for the next events.  Sundowner of Friday from 6pm.  Hope to see you there.

A small selection of photographs are on the Club Facebook page.

Hi all,

Quick reminder that the first JYS is this Sunday from 1230.  Hugh is running the session with Angus and other helpers. Val should have sent you all an e-mail with the programme, various forms and the new way of paying in advance for the sessions.

Parents are welcome to come along to help out as it makes the instructors lives easier.

Just to let you know that Jo and I are using the following e-mail address for all youth correspondence: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Hope that you are able to make the session.

See you there!

Jo and Jeremy

EYC Family Christmas Dinner, Sunday 11 December

A reminder that the Club's successful Christmas Dinner is being held on Sunday 11 December from 12 noon.

Members are invited to bring family, but just remember that places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.  Tickets available from Ann or behind the bar.

Those who don't want to have dinner are welcome to come along afterwards to meet up with friends before Christmas and also watch the world famous, most notorious EYC Annual Pantomime, produced by that excellent wit, polymath and word scribbler Mr Mick Kemp, aided and abetted by his willing troupe of players.  Well worth a watch....!!!

See you there for a very good day at the Club.
